| Research and Writing Associate Positions |
Research and Writing Associates create written materials related to drug therapy that are helpful to subscribers. Responsibilities include gathering, analyzing, investigating, writing, and delivering information and recommendations about drug therapy. There is no such thing as a typical day; however Associates will be involved in many aspects of the
editorial process
.
Identifying topics: Involves communicating with subscribers, internet research, involvement with internet communities, and literature reviews. Research: Involves literature analysis, speaking with experts, and internet research. Writing: Involves writing articles for the monthly Letters, Detail-Documents, articles for websites, CE and CME courses, Special Reports, and other projects. Delivering: Involves participating in activities that maximize the usability of information via web, PDA, smart phone, and other technologies.
PharmD with excellent experience, or equivalent, is highly desirable. This position requires an outstanding command of drug therapy knowledge. Excellent computer skills also required. Successful applicants must be able and willing to investigate, synthesize information, and make therapeutic recommendations with clarity and accuracy.
This is a full-time position. Working in the Stockton California office is preferred, however telecommuting from a distance will be considered for the right candidate.
Successful Research and Writing Associates may advance to an Assistant Editor position if desired.

All activities are done as a group effort. Each member of the team has personal responsibilities and each member works within the team to refine each written project.
Prior writing experience is NOT required. We teach investigative journalism and writing skills.

| Editorial/Drug Information Residency |
We are now accepting applications for a Pharmacy Editorial Residency.
This is an opportunity to apply drug knowledge and practice experience, and to learn the fast-paced and interesting world of analyzing, editing, and publishing print and electronic publications.
This residency emphasizes evidence-based medicine, research, editing. The resident will learn the art and science of advising pharmacists, physicians, and other health professionals on drug therapy.
The resident will work with the team of innovative pharmacists who publish Pharmacist's Letter, Prescriber's Letter, Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database, Ident-A-Drug, continuing education courses, and web-based drug information services.
The resident should have outstanding computer and internet understanding and skills, a strong interest in drug information and research, and an aptitude for writing. But no previous writing experience is required.
The resident will contribute as a member of the editorial team and be responsible for completing research, literature analysis, and other drug information services in support of numerous ongoing and new editorial projects. The resident will also be involved in advancing and developing new drug information and advisory services for health professionals. The resident must enjoy a fast-paced environment and be capable of handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
The residency program will be at the new 20,000 sq foot Therapeutic Research Center facility in Stockton, CA. Compensation will include $45,000 annual salary, health insurance, two weeks vacation, and travel expenses paid to professional association meetings. The biggest benefit is learning from a dynamic team of pharmacists and involvement in a terrific learning environment.

APPLICATION AND HIRING PROCESS

We will begin with a review of your CV and send you an invitation to do an exercise. Candidates who choose to do the exercise will have an opportunity to see first-hand the type of work that members of the editorial team are doing. The short written sample that candidates may submit gives our editorial team a writing sample to consider as part of their application. Preferred candidates will be invited to conduct a telephone call with a member of the editorial team. Since an editorial position often presents a significantly new type of work for candidates, finalists are often invited to begin on a very limited basis. This allows a candidate to sample the position before making a firm decision to leave their current position.
