The mission has remained the same for 25 years. The Center's goal since its formation in 1985 has been to enhance patient care.

The organization's DRIVING PRINCIPLES also have remained constant over the preceding quarter century:
- NO ADVERTISING - The Center NEVER accepts any form of advertising. All recommendations are based entirely on scientific evidence and research and are completely free of any commercial influence.
- INDEPENDENCE - The Center has NO ties to any pharmaceutical firm or manufacturer. The Center takes its independence very seriously. For example all of the Editors agree to not own any stock in any pharmaceutical company. This independence allows the Center to make entirely unbiased recommendations.
- EVIDENCE-BASED - All data and recommendations published by the Center and any of its publications are based on scientific data. Therapeutic Research Center supports the key elements of evidence-based medicine.
- SUPERB RESEARCH - The Center does exhaustive research and consults with hundreds of experts to develop clinical recommendations. They blend the best medical literature with the best clinical acumen to provide clinically relevant recommendations.
- PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS - The Center develops recommendations that can be used immediately. The publications provide recommendations relevant to clinical situations that face medical professionals in their daily practice.
- SUCCINCT – The publications give relevant recommendations in as few words as possible. They save time. Their value is measured by the quality of their recommendations...not the quantity of their pages.
- PRIVACY – Subscriber information is not rented or sold to any other organization. No subscriber ever gets marketing or solicitations from any other organization as a result of providing personal information to the Center or any of its publications.
- CUSTOMER SERVICE – There should never be an unhappy customer. Period. All staff members strive to exceed customer expectations.
- INTEGRITY - The motto is, treat others as you would like to be treated.
- TRUST – The Center realizes that only way to gain a reputation of trust is to earn it. The Driving Principles are the reason that hundreds of thousands of medical professionals TRUST Therapeutic Research Center and it publications.
Over the years Therapeutic Research Center has defied the odds. At its formation, experts predicted that the policy against accepting advertising or support would doom the organization. A decade later consultants predicted that the Internet would doom the organization.
The opposite has occurred. The ban on advertising has become a huge asset. The vast majority of drug-related information from other sources is now supported by funding from pharmaceutical firms. Even medical association meetings, medical journals, and continuing education programs continue to be dependent upon pharmaceutical company funding.
Medical professionals appreciate Therapeutic Research Center for being the only organization of its kind that does not accept advertising and retains its strict independence and gives unbiased information and recommendations.
The rise of the Internet doomed other publishers by making so much information so readily available for free. This has also become an important asset for Therapeutic Research Center.
